Moving to New York from Japan in 2006, Haruka has become one of Brooklyn’s most versatile, seasoned, and in-demand DJs, joining the dots between house, techno, electro, hip hop, disco, rock, and more. For more than 15 years she has continuously been on the cutting edge, and in recent years she’s been making regular appearances at the likes of Bossa Nova, Elsewhere and Mood Ring, including infamous sets at the influential BOUND and Fourth World parties. Joining toucan sounds, and teaming up with a 'who's who' of underground dance artists, ‘HarukaMart’ is the debut EP under her disco/house-leaning project Haruka Salt.
Alone in the world
And you don’t even hide it
I can’t read your mind
Now would you mind, putting it in writing?
Our love is harder than a diamond
The pressure purifies it
But the pressure’s gone when the love is done
We’re in the middle of an island
Alone to refine it
Oh, but it’s you and me all alone, my dear
Deep in hole
Out of control, some time is wasted
Better believe it, dear that the end is near
But the future is long, and as we still go along
Somehow we’ll make it
Oh, somehow we’ll make it because…
Our love is harder than a diamond
The pressure purifies it
But the pressure’s gone when the love is done
We’re in the middle of an island
Alone to refine it
Oh, but it’s you and me all alone, my dear
Our love is harder than a diamond
The pressure purifies it
But the pressure’s gone when the love is done
We’re in the middle of an island
Alone to refine it
Oh, but it’s you and me all alone, my dear
Our love is harder than a diamond
The pressure purifies it
But the pressure’s gone when the love is done
We’re in the middle of an island
Alone to refine it
Oh, but it’s you and me all alone, my dear

Moodymann creates innovative soul funky music with deep 70s inspiration. The vocals are simply outstanding. A step back in time, 50 years ago! Superb. jef37

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
